Student Research Spring Meeting 2021

The Student Research Spring Meeting was held on May 21 via Zoom. Current student researchers nominated Student Research Mentors for Mentor of the Year awards. All student researchers voted on the nominations, and recipients of the award receive a plaque, and their name is added to a plaque in the Iowa Institute for Oral Health Research. This year, Dr. Azeez Butali was recognized as Mentor of the Year. He was nominated by his students, Chichi Adeleke and Mary Li.

Senior Research Achievement Awards are determined based on a portfolio of research that is circulated to a group of 38 electors. The electors select award recipients based on the scientific merit of projects, the significance and productivity of projects, the number of years of involvement in research, the originality of the research, and the student's professional conduct. Award recipients were selected in 2021: Jasmine Butler, Connor Dang, Aminata Dumbuya, Ryan Hemsley, Hannah Klaassen, Caroline LaRoy, and Jordan Roszhart.
